Used as a ride-sharing platform, the Robotaxi will eventually transfer riders from Point A to Point B without any human needed.<\/p>\n<p>However, more than just the <a href=\"https:\/\/www.teslarati.com\/tesla-robotaxi-cybercab-wireless-charging-speed-teased\/\">vehicle operation will be fully autonomous<\/a>.<\/p>\n<p>Tesla will also use <a href=\"https:\/\/www.teslarati.com\/tesla-wireless-charging-patent-robotaxi\/#google_vignette\">a wireless charging pad to create a full-fledged, completely autonomous<\/a> driving and ownership experience. Instead of manually plugging in the Robotaxi when it is time to recharge, the vehicle will slide over a wireless charging pad, much like the one it unveiled at Investor Day in 2023.<\/p>\n<blockquote class=\"wp-embedded-content\" data-secret=\"LaROQVhsDP\"><p><a href=\"https:\/\/www.teslarati.com\/tesla-teases-wireless-home-charger-photo\/\">Tesla teases mysterious \u201cwireless\u201d home charger on Investor Day<\/a><\/p><\/blockquote>\n<p><iframe loading=\"lazy\" class=\"wp-embedded-content\" sandbox=\"allow-scripts\" security=\"restricted\" style=\"position: absolute; visibility: hidden;\" title=\"&#8220;Tesla teases mysterious \u201cwireless\u201d home charger on Investor Day&#8221; &#8212; TESLARATI\" src=\"https:\/\/www.teslarati.com\/tesla-teases-wireless-home-charger-photo\/embed\/#?secret=irjhANxeK4#?secret=LaROQVhsDP\" data-secret=\"LaROQVhsDP\" width=\"600\" height=\"338\" frameborder=\"0\" marginwidth=\"0\" marginheight=\"0\" scrolling=\"no\"><\/iframe><\/p>\n<p>Tesla shared the video of the Robotaxi pulling over the charging pad and gaining range without any human intervention needed, truly creating an autonomous experience from top to bottom and start to finish.<\/p>\n<p>Check out the video below:<\/p>\n<blockquote class=\"twitter-tweet\">\n<p dir=\"ltr\" lang=\"en\">Robotaxi wireless charging<\/p>\n<p>No hands required <a href=\"https:\/\/t.co\/XL746DkGhb\">pic.twitter.com\/XL746DkGhb<\/a><\/p>\n<p>\u2014 Tesla (@Tesla) <a href=\"https:\/\/twitter.com\/Tesla\/status\/1847302296494915588?ref_src=twsrc%5Etfw\">October 18, 2024<\/a><\/p><\/blockquote>\n<p><script async src=\"https:\/\/platform.twitter.com\/widgets.js\" charset=\"utf-8\"><\/script><\/p>\n<p>The video does note a charging power of just 25 kW.<\/p>\n<p>It would be nice to have some sort of information regarding whether this tech will be available for retrofit, especially considering many owners are curious as to whether Tesla will push the wireless charging capability to the rest of its lineup in the coming years, something that has been speculated since <a href=\"https:\/\/www.teslarati.com\/tesla-sells-wireless-charging-unit-firm-wiferion-report\/\">the automaker purchased Wiferion a few years back<\/a>.<\/p>\n<p>In reality, the charging rate does not\u00a0<em>truly\u00a0<\/em>matter to anyone because the vehicle is designed to take care of the rides and the riders on its own. There is no real reason for the charging rate to be of any concern.<\/p>\n<p>The Robotaxi experience, from an ownership perspective, is truly like a long-term investment.
