It has started to move out of the country and over the Atlantic Ocean, but several inches fell in major metropolitan areas yesterday on April 10.<\/p>\n<div class=\"in-article-ad\"><script async src=\"\/\/pagead2.googlesyndication.com\/pagead\/js\/adsbygoogle.js\"><\/script><ins class=\"adsbygoogle\" style=\"display: block; text-align: center;\" data-ad-layout=\"in-article\" data-ad-format=\"fluid\" data-ad-client=\"ca-pub-4672671650557568\" data-ad-slot=\"7845413937\"><\/ins><script>(adsbygoogle = window.adsbygoogle || []).push({});<\/script><\/div>\n<p>One of the cities that felt a massive part of the storm was New Orleans, Louisiana.<\/p>\n<p>According to a report from\u00a0<a href=\"https:\/\/www.usatoday.com\/story\/news\/weather\/2024\/04\/10\/storm-heavy-rain-possible-tornadoes-southeaster-united-states\/73268061007\/\" target=\"_blank\" rel=\"noopener\"><em>USA Today<\/em><\/a>, more than 118,000 homes and businesses were without power from Texas to Georgia on Wednesday night. At least one person in Mississippi passed away.<\/p>\n<p>New Orleans experienced between five and eight inches of rainfall during the storm. Winds of up to 80 MPH were also reported.<\/p>\n<p>While officials in New Orleans warned people of flooding and advised them to stay off of the roads to avoid any danger, a Tesla Cybertruck apparently did not get the memo:<\/p>\n<blockquote class=\"twitter-tweet\" data-media-max-width=\"560\">\n<p dir=\"ltr\" lang=\"en\">Officials urged people to avoid driving in New Orleans on Wednesday due to severe flooding, but one intrepid Tesla Cyber Truck driver tried to punch on through. <a href=\"https:\/\/t.co\/n27EdGFKeW\">pic.twitter.com\/n27EdGFKeW<\/a><\/p>\n<p>\u2014 AccuWeather (@accuweather) <a href=\"https:\/\/twitter.com\/accuweather\/status\/1778473925011214773?ref_src=twsrc%5Etfw\">April 11, 2024<\/a><\/p><\/blockquote>\n<p><script async src=\"https:\/\/platform.twitter.com\/widgets.js\" charset=\"utf-8\"><\/script><\/p>\n<p>Initially, Tesla had big plans for the Cybertruck, and CEO Elon Musk said it would be able to cross bodies of water like rivers, lakes, and seas as it wanted to equip the pickup with the ability to be waterproof in certain conditions.<\/p>\n<p>Musk wanted the vehicle to get from Starbase to South Padre Island in Texas, a roughly 6.5-mile float.<\/p>\n<p>As a result, Tesla equipped the Cybertruck with Wade Mode, a feature that aims to protect the battery pack by pressurizing it.
