The charger itself is slimmer and more compact than its predecessor, a change that allows for more versatile indoor charging. While the old unit has a separate metal plate where the charger is mounted, the new charger has a detachable back piece that is mounted on the wall where the charger is placed. Tesla requires a qualified electrician to install the charger.<\/p>\n<p>\u201cIt is absolutely gorgeous. It\u2019s beautiful,\u201d <a href=\"https:\/\/www.youtube.com\/watch?v=ukyMXL1GnQc&amp;feature=youtu.be\">says<\/a> Tesla Owners Online. \u201cIt sells for $500, which I think is a really good deal. Actually, it\u2019s a fantastic deal. As far as EVSEs, electric supply vehicle equipment, is concerned, buying anything else from another manufacturer [\u2026] it\u2019s still cheaper than the competition.\u201d<\/p>\n<p>YouTube creator Super Tesla has the same great first impression. His new charger took two to three hours to get installed. Once it\u2019s on, the green light on the faceplate moves to indicate that it\u2019s charging.<\/p>\n<p><iframe loading=\"lazy\" title=\"NEW TESLA Wall Connector White Gen 3 Unboxing\" width=\"740\" height=\"416\" src=\"https:\/\/www.youtube.com\/embed\/n4JJ6tQ2YN0?feature=oembed\" frameborder=\"0\" allow=\"accelerometer; autoplay; clipboard-write; encrypted-media; gyroscope; picture-in-picture; web-share\" referrerpolicy=\"strict-origin-when-cross-origin\" allowfullscreen><\/iframe><\/p>\n<p><iframe loading=\"lazy\" title=\"NEW Tesla Wall Connector Gen 3 Installed\" width=\"740\" height=\"416\" src=\"https:\/\/www.youtube.com\/embed\/8kybHCNI-mo?feature=oembed\" frameborder=\"0\" allow=\"accelerometer; autoplay; clipboard-write; encrypted-media; gyroscope; picture-in-picture; web-share\" referrerpolicy=\"strict-origin-when-cross-origin\" allowfullscreen><\/iframe><\/p>\n<p>Tesla promises a full charge overnight. For Super Tesla, he was able to charge his Model 3 up to 90 percent in two hours and 25 minutes. This gives him a range of 44 miles per hour of charge, which is up to par with what Tesla promises. It now takes only one hour to power up his daily commute.<\/p>\n<p>\u201cI had to have my laundry room door open while charging and I was only getting 22 to 23 miles per hour of range,\u201d <a href=\"https:\/\/www.youtube.com\/watch?v=8kybHCNI-mo\">says<\/a> Super Tesla.\u201d So now my daily commute I can pretty much charge up in one hour, which is awesome.\u201d<\/p>\n<p>Tesla unveiled its <a href=\"https:\/\/www.teslarati.com\/tesla-3rd-gen-wall-connector-charger-wifi-ota-updates\/\">new home charger<\/a> earlier this month. It comes with Wi-Fi connectivity to allow for over-the-air software and firmware updates. It is also compatible with a variety of electrical systems and can be customized to work with a range of circuit breakers.
