I understand. The problem is the fact that they just said this thing, which they’ve never successfully done before, is easy. Now if they fail, they have embarrassed themselves for no reason. If they succeed, they can’t brag, because they already said it was easy.

They didn’t need to say anything about the difficulty. They could have just let people assume it was hard, and then everyone would be excited that SpaceX pulled it off (again).

Honestly… the next part I’m excited for is when they launch the prior rocket and land it again. Right now, they just have a theoretically reusable rocket. Landing was important, but if it can’t take off again, was it really reusable?

In reply to Taylor Marks. No, ir doesn't. This flight will be much higher wish means that they will have to use much more fuel to get the rocket up and then even more fuel to make it stop. If they also would need to stop it, turn around and drive back it would need even more fuel. Now they can let the rocket continue in the same direction.

“SpaceX claims landing on a barge in the ocean is an easier task than bringing a rocket back to the launch site.” – bold statement. I would not say that, as it’ll come back to haunt you if you fail on this landing.
