SpaceX should have equipped the barge with speakers just for the purpose of playing that song during successful landings.

After having successfully landed it on land once, and having come so close to perfect on the prior (and more difficult) barge attempt, I was pretty certain that they would manage to land this one successfully.

My question now is… when will they actually reuse this specific rocket? I know the first successfully landed rocket from a few months ago was going to just have tests run on it and then it was going to be put in a museum, but I assume that this rocket is actually going to get reused.

I mean… that’s the real test, right? They’re not landing the rockets just for fun. They’re landing them so they can be reused. Even if you can only reuse it once, I figure that should still cut the price of flying these things by like, 55%.

The man is a force of nature, no doubt about it. In one week has stood the automotive and the space industries on their heads.

Pretty good week for Elon.

We had SpaceX’s live stream on one screen and NASA’s on another right next to it. It was interesting to contrast the two.

NASA’s control center was full of boring old white guys. All buttoned up. Couldn’t be bothered to show any emotion the entire time.

Then there was SpaceX. Far younger on average. Diverse. Energetic. Excited.

Also, SpaceX’s live cast had vastly better production quality. NASA’s wouldn’t have been out of place in the 60s or 70s on a tube TV. SpaceX just looked a lot more media savvy. Slick. Professional.

I applaud Space X for this massive accomplishment. The Video looks like an SNL sketch – all these smart hipster cool California young people talking rockets. Gone are the days of the pocket-protector-wearing nerds at NASA with their dry 3-hour commentary on a Space Shuttle launch. I’m “only” 41 years old but man do I feel old watching these 20-30-somethings announcing that they are head of rocket engineering (or whatever) at Space X and they are all good looking young progressive people. I love it!! What great changes Elon Musk is implementing in major industries like automotive and space. I’m thoroughly impressed and excited about a new future. We need a World Chancellor and my vote goes to Elon.
